It’s not laziness. It’s executive function and it can be supported.
‘Disorganised’. ‘Lazy’. ‘Forgetful’.
Labelled as a child?
If everyday life feels harder than it should, despite effort and intelligence, it isn't a character flaw. It is an executive function challenge, and you don't have to navigate it alone.
Does any of this feel familiar?
You or your child may:
Struggle to get started on tasks, even when they are important or urgent.
Feel easily overwhelmed by planning, daily routines, or managing time.
Experience big emotions that escalate quickly and take longer to settle.
Frequently forget instructions or lose track of everyday belongings.
Know exactly what to do, but find it incredibly hard to follow through consistently.
These experiences are incredibly common in ADHD, autism, and other neurodivergent profiles. Most importantly: they are not a reflection of effort, intelligence, or character.
It’s not laziness. It’s wiring.
Executive functions are the brain’s regulation system.
They help us:
● Start and complete tasks
● Plan, organise, and prioritise
● Manage emotions and impulses
● Hold information in mind
● Adapt when things change
When this system is overloaded, everyday life can feel chaotic and exhausting, for both children and adults.
Science-led support for real-life executive function challenges
You can think of executive function skills as the brain’s “air traffic control” system.
When too many demands arrive at once - school pressures, work expectations, emotional load, sensory input - the system becomes overwhelmed.
My approach blends evidence-based neuroscience with practical, real-world strategies, helping clients strengthen executive function skills in a way that fits daily life.
How executive function coaching helps
Through tailored coaching, we work together to:
Uncover what’s getting in the way (without blame or shame)
Design routines and systems that actually feel realistic for your life
Develop tools to regulate emotions and navigate overwhelm
Improve everyday organisation, planning, and follow-through
Rebuild confidence and foster deep self-understanding
Coaching is always tailored to you - because no two brains, families, or lives are exactly the same.
Meet Anna - your coach
I’m Anna, an Executive Function Coach with a background in Paediatric Neuropsychology.
After retraining in Psychology (BSc) and Paediatric Neuropsychology (MSc, UCL), I began supporting neurodivergent children, teens, and adults to understand how their brains work - and how to build strategies that reduce shame and increase clarity.
My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in science.
I bring the neuroscience. You bring your lived experience. Together, we build tools that work with your brain, not against it.
